PUMPING WEIGHT App Reviews

Buggy, bad interface

Im amazed how hard it is to find a decent weightlifting log in the app store. Pumping weight is well-intentioned, but lacks proper design. There are bugs, and even typos in the exercise write-ups that are a sign of a lack of attention to detail. The catalogue is very limited, and adding exercises to your routine is not very intuitive. There are also odd glitches in the interface, that leave tutorial info visible indefinitely (arrows pointing to buttons with an explanation of what they do). Id like to see that, and much more, addressed before this becomes my go-to tracker.

Me

Dont waste your money.

Just what I was looking for.

This is not meant to be a heavy workout log. The main purpose of this is to be able to simply/quickly log the basics in a calendar view so you can keep track of your routine. I am sick and tired of all these workout apps that you endlessly search into. Here you can simply enter the body part you plan to workout and if you want to get technical you can enter sets/reps. Btw I love the interface fellas.

I want to like this more

This app could really use some simplifying. It has a nice attitude and aesthetics, but it is somewhat complicated to log a workout without getting buried in sub-menus.

Eh

Its alright

Great App

Just finished my first workout with this app and its great! Very intuitive and quick user interface so you are not sitting there for more than 5 seconds between sets. Plus you can add your own workouts! Great app for tracking strength training progress and weight loss.

Not too shabby

I like it but if it was part planner and part tracker, itd be five star worthy. Just add the feature to plan what days to do exercises and what exercises to do that day and youll be golden.

4/5

Great look. Great customizability. Great for keeping reps, sets, rest-time, exercises, and calendar. The only thing I would change is the rest timer. It is a bit confusing.

Terrible support, doesnt match description

I was looking at GymBuddy, Full Fitness, Pumping Weight, or Jefit. I went with Pumping Weight because of the smart graphics. Basically I judged the book by its cover. Dumb mistake. This is a rudimentary app with zero support online, no manual, no instructions. Several of the screen shots you see on the iTunes store lead you to believe that the app explains the exercises, this is not the case until you set up the routine for the day and then begin your workout at the gym. (Question: how do you know what exercises to add to your routine before you visualize them?). Once you do get to see a description of the exercise, many of them lack illustrations. There is simply a text description which is poorly worded and hard to make sense of. (Tip to the developer: hire a editor). Again, this doesnt match the impression a buyer is given from the screen shots. If your terminology matches that of the developers 100% (what are the odds of that?) and you want a rudimentary workout log with no additional support, you can try this app which is basically a better looking but harder to use version of GymBuddy. If you want an app that is going to teach you something, go for Full Fitness or Jefit.

iCloud support is weird

I spent 20 minutes adding my p90x exercises to the app, synced to icloud for my iPad, and then discovered everything Id created on my iPhone disappeared. Now nothing syncs. iCloud support is not working.

Very buggy

Crashes 90% of the time

Better than a notepad, more simple than all other "fitness apps"

Too many apps are trying to sell you on features that you probably dont need, and an online profile that publicizes your exploits. Pumping Weight is simple enough that you dont have to spend minutes every workout, reinputting exercises. Its easy to expand on sets, add new exercises, and quickly log your workouts without struggling with the app "syncing" your information in the background. If you dont have motivation problems, and dont need all the frills of those "Weight lifting meets Facebook" social angles, Pumping Weight is for you.

Great app to log workouts

I downloaded the app and have used it to log a few workouts. I love it! Finally a workout log app thats intuitive and quick to use. Please make it a universal app so I dont have to use the iPhone version on my iPad!

Brilliant workout tracking app

That application reinvent an idea of workout tracking. Simple, good looking and smart. I hope in future I can be able to use some web extension for it as extra but now that is a simple brilliant application if you know what are you doing in the gym. Really good job.

Useful but annoying

Im very upset that to rearrange exercises, I must delete all preceding workouts and then write them in reverse. Please, implement a way to move them around. Also, if you double tap some buttons, it crashes the app.

No support response, data is gone

I used this app a few times and liked it. Then I put data in on the wrong day. I deleted those entries, and it wiped out all data, including all the stored exercises that come with the program. Now all I can add is "untitled." There is no way to get the data back. I emailed the company from the support address provided in the app, and a week later have received no response. Avoid.

Love it

This apps design is so great. The app is functional, and easy to use. I have gifted this to 2-3 of my lifting buddies.

Keeps erasing my reviews.

So I wont bother to write more except this app is useless

Right App for those who workout regularly

I have had this App for nearly 2 years. I workout at least 5 days a week and this app from what I have found fits my routines better than any if the others. It allows me to keep up with what I have done so I can focus on the areas that need more attention. It backs up data on iCloud so your graphs go back a year. Most used App on my phone!!!

Beautiful, maybe a bit buggy

The interface is a bit quirky, and theres a few bugs (e.g. long lags if youve been using it for a while, and have a number of workout plans entered) but it more than makes up for that with its features. Huge fan.
